Sonya Watkins (Flowers) was born & raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Sonya, a lead & background vocalist, has a strong sultry (alto) voice that has landed her many, many singing jobs in her career.
Her voice can be heard (singing background) on the recordings of such artist as "Midnight Star" including their smash hit "No Parking On The Dance Floor" as well as recordings by "The Deele" on their album "Material Thangz" which was produced by L.A. Reid, with music on the album composed by now legendary singer, songwriter and producer, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds
Singing at "The Kool Jazz Fest" (now known as The Macy's Music Festival in Cincinnati) was a great accomplishment for Sonya.
In addition to working with singing gorups all around the region, Sonya is also contracted frequently for commercial jingle work with "No Sleep Productions" singing on commercial jingles.
Sonya stays busy as a vocalist currently lending her voice to "The Leroy Ellington Band" as well as her own singing group "Shades of Brown".
Karen Flowers was born & raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been singing professionally since she was a teenager., is an accomplished lead and background soprano and alto vocalist.
Her vocal contributions are many...having performed and recorded with Platinum selling artists such as "Midnight Star" including singing background vocals on their smash hit "No Parking On The Dance Floor" as well as recordings by "The Deele" on their album "Material Thangz" which was produced by L.A. Karen has performed in many professional and high profile venues and events most notably a performance at "The Kool Jazz Fest" (now known as The Macy's Music Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Although her accomplishments are many , Karen is currently enjoying her role singing with her sister Sonya Watkins Flowers, a part of the truly dynamic combination of "The Soul Flower Singers" and "The Leroy Ellington Band", as well as performing with her group "Shades of Brown".
